Hidex Oy Supports Alzheimer's Research with €20,000 Donation

October 10, 2023

As Hidex commemorates its 30-year anniversary, we give back to society by reaffirming our commitment to scientific advancement. In celebration of this milestone, we have donated 20,000 euros to the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Turku.

Longstanding Partnership with the University of Turku

Hidex has maintained a longstanding and fruitful collaboration with the University of Turku for over two decades. Our ties run deep, with multiple successful collaborative projects and several of our employees having studied or worked at the university.

Committed to Science

This charitable donation is dedicated to medical research, with a particular emphasis on Alzheimer's disease. At Hidex, we believe in the power of scientific research to transform lives, and we are committed to supporting the advancement of medical knowledge.

“Our company's connections to the scientific community are strong and we want to promote the future of scientific research on many levels in our operations. That is why we also continue to support the University of Turku with donations. As Hidex turns 30 this year, we want to target the donation to the medical education sector. We hope to use the funds especially to promote Alzheimer's disease research, as the disease has touched one of our company's founding members personally.”

Dean Pekka Hänninen Expresses Gratitude and Hope

Pekka Hänninen, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, expressed his profound gratitude for Hidex Oy's donation and emphasized its crucial role in advancing medical disease research, particularly in the context of Alzheimer's.

“Alzheimer's disease, Finland's most common memory disease, affects the most of us in some way. With the help of the Faculty of Medicine's high-level research, we aim, for example, to find out the mechanisms behind the origin of Alzheimer's disease and to develop diagnostics and new forms of treatment. Hidex Oy's donation can be used specifically for this work.”
