Hidex announces launch of two new products – Introducing the Hidex AMG XT and the Hidex MUSE x16
November 12, 2025
Hidex launches two new products - Hidex AMG XT and Hidex MUSE x16.
At Hidex, product innovation is not only about meeting the needs of what laboratories need today, but also about anticipating the needs and challenges of tomorrow. During our biennial distributor Marketing meeting in September 2025, we proudly unveiled two new instruments designed to redefine robust performance and automation in radiometric measurement: the Hidex AMG XT and the Hidex MUSE x16.
The launch of these new products marks an important milestone in our ongoing effort to offer precision, accuracy, safety, and efficiency for laboratories worldwide.
Hidex AMG Evolved – Introducing the New Hidex AMG XT
Building on the success of the original Hidex AMG, the launch of the new Hidex AMG XT accounts for one of the most frequent requests – increased sample capacity. Designed for high-throughput environments, the Hidex AMG XT preserves the existing technology and functionality while featuring a larger sample conveyor belt, and can be ordered as early as January 2026.
With capacity of up to 500 small vials or 200 large vials, the AMG XT will be minimizing exposure while improving production across clinical, biomedical, and pharmaceutical laboratories worldwide where sample throughput is critical for day-to-day testing. Whether for pharmacokinetic studies, biodistribution, or radiolabelled tracer studies, the instrument ensures productivity, compliance, sample traceability, and regulatory support.
The Hidex AMG XT has the same technical features as the Hidex AMG, such as the detector type and onboard balance enabling automated sample handling. With a modern software interface and newly designed sample racks, the AMG XT brings together the reliability that Hidex instruments are known for with a workhorse design that high-volume laboratories require for ease of operations.
Leading the Future of Radiometric Screening – The Hidex MUSE x16
Hidex is also introducing the Hidex MUSE x16, the fastest radiometric microplate beta counter for high-throughput screening and automation.
Many laboratories still rely on instruments developed decades ago, which subsequently create service and maintenance challenges that cause a hindrance in productivity. The Hidex MUSE x16 provides a modern solution to this market gap: a counter designed to increase and maintain laboratory efficiency for the next decade and beyond. - Ville Haaslahti, CEO of Hidex
Featuring 16 parallel detectors, the system delivers unmatched throughput for 96- and 384-well microplates, processing more samples per hour than any other radiometric microplate counter today. The counter is equipped with stackers accommodating up to 48 microplates in one load enabling long, unattended runs, reducing operator workload while maximizing results.
Modern detector electronics offer improved counting efficiency, lower background noise, and higher sensitivity, an essential for detecting low radioisotope concentrations. For automated laboratories, the Hidex MUSE x16 will also be available in lab robot integration configuration. The Hidex MUSE x16 will be ready for deliveries starting autumn 2026.
Smarter Software, Seamless Integration
Both the Hidex AMG XT and Hidex MUSE x16 are equipped with modern softwares designed for intuitive operation, customizable workflows, and secure data handling. For laboratories working with LabLogic’s Laura software, both devices will offer direct compatibility ensuring smooth and validated data flow.
